CLASS III ITEMS
WHAT IS A CLASS III OR NFA ITEM?
A Class III/NFA item is a firearm or firearm accessory that is regulated by the ATF in accordance with the National Firearms Act of 1986. These items include Full Auto machine guns, silencers, short barrel rifles and shotguns, etc. At The Armories, we have lots of examples in stock of different types of NFA items for sale!
CAN I OWN A CLASS III ITEM?
Many people have the misconception that these items are illegal. If you meet the criteria to own a regular firearm, chances are you are allowed to own a Class III item in the State of Florida! The process is quite simple actually. See below for more information and then come into the shop to begin the process!

NFA / CLASS III PURCHASE PROCESS:
1. DECIDE WHAT TYPE OF NFA / CLASS III ITEM YOU WISH TO PURCHASE? E.G. PRE 86 TRANSFERABLE MACHINE-GUN, SBR (SHORT BARREL RIFLE), SBS (SHORT BARREL SHOTGUN), SUPPRESSOR (SILENCER) OR AOW (ANY OTHER WEAPON) AND PAY FOR THE ITEM.
2. COMPLETE REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION. ALL OF THESE STEPS CAN BE COMPLETED AT ANY ARMORIES LOCATION!
3. WE WILL SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION ELECTRONICALLY, PLUS $200 TAX STAMP FEE TO THE ATF.
4. ONCE THE FORM 4 HAS BEEN APPROVED AND THE ARMORIES RECEIVES IT, WE WILL CONTACT YOU (THE CUSTOMER) TO ARRANGE TRANSFER OF THE ITEM (IN STORE PICKUP). THE CUSTOMER WILL THEN FILL OUT A BATF FORM 4473 AND THE NFA ITEM WILL BE TRANSFERRED TO ONE OF THE RESPONSIBLE PERSONS ON THEIR APPLICATION.
In cases of a NON-APPROVAL, The $200 tax stamp is paid to and would be refunded by the ATF. However, a 50% restocking fee will be charged for all NON-APPROVALS of Class III items (we will take every step we can to corecct any issues that cause a NON-APPROVAL)
THE ARMORIES charges a non-refundable transfer fee for items not purchased from us depending on the class of that item. There is no transfer fee for items purchased through Silencer Shop and the customer use us as the transferring dealer. There is also a convenience fee associated with using the SS kiosk for customers purchasing a NFA item from another class 3 dealer.

It's easier than it sounds, just come in to our nearest shop and let us walk you through the process! WE CAN HAVE THE ENTIRE PROCESS COMPLETED IN ABOUT 20 MINUTES! (BUT SOMETIMES A SECOND VISIT IS REQUIRED.) The ATF and SilencerShop are now using e-Form 4 applications that are shortening wait times and streamlining the queue of pending applcations. While lead times are still not guaranteed, the process is no doubt quicker than paper form 4 applications.
